How do I go about registering?
Call to book an appointment, we are open Monday to Friday 8.00 – 5.30.
What do I need to bring along with me?
The following items will be needed when registering:
- ID – either a valid passport or birth certificate.
- It is advisable to bring an up to date CV if you have one
- Any relevant licences e.g. driving licences, FLT etc
- National Insurance number
- Names, addresses and telephone numbers of previous employers for reference purposes
What kind of work do you specialise in?
We recruit in several sectors, commercial, industrial, technical, managerial and property. The consultants dealing with each department specialise in that type of employment. For example, a consultant dealing with Property based vacancies will have worked directly within the property industry for a number of years.
What kind of jobs will I be put forward for?
During your initial interview a consultant will hold a discussion with you to find out what work you are looking for, where your skills lie and what kind of positions are of interest to you.
Do you only supply temporary staff?
No, we supply both temporary, temp to perm and straight permanent depending on both the client and the assignment. Your consultant will discuss your requirements during your registration process.
How long does it take to find a placement?
Every candidate and their circumstances are different, so the time frame varies. We try to place you somewhere that suits yourself and the client but more importantly where you will enjoy working.
When and how do I get paid?
Those candidates on temporary and temp-perm assignments are paid weekly on Fridays direct into your bank or building society account. Your Tax and National Insurance will be deducted at source. However, in order for us to administer the correct tax coding, you will need to provide a current P45 or we will issue you with a P46 or P38 before you start your first assignment. You will receive a payslip detailing your earnings and any deductions.
Will I know who you send my CV to?
As a matter of courtesy LMS Recruitment will always ask your permission before sending a copy of your CV to clients. Only if we feel a vacancy is suitable for you will we forward your CV.
Will you help me prepare for interview?
Yes we will brief you thoroughly prior to any interviews. We will give you as much information about the position, the responsibilities, the company, department and dress code as well as details of the salary offered and any benefits. We also provide tips and techniques to help you prepare for interview. We also contact both our candidates and clients following an interview to get valuable feedback from both perspectives.
What if I don’t like the sound of a job when I’ve had an interview?
There is no pressure for you to accept any job that may be offered to you. An interview is a two way process allowing both the interviewer and interviewee the opportunity to get to know each other. We will contact you following the interview to see how it went and give you feedback from the client. If you decide a position isn’t right for you, or you have any queries or concerns, then we can advise on the most appropriate course of action. Our main concern is to provide the right solution for everyone.
