Quality Manager (South Cheshire)
Head of Quality required to work for our Steel Manufacturing client based in Cheshire. The Departmental Head role will report directly to the Managing Director will be responsible for the organisation and control of the Quality Systems and Processes of the site.
To lead and manage the strategic and operational performance of the Quality department, ensuring the successful delivery of business strategy, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and objectives, whilst adhering to regulatory compliance and achieving commercial success. To ensure the efficient and effective day to day running of the department. Establish and maintain key customer relationships, internal and external.
The key responsibilities of the role will be –
·Ensuring all the current operational systems and processes meet the requirements of both the internal QA system and any external certifications;
·Ensure all issues are investigated and a corrective / preventative action is implemented;
·Review and development of these systems to ensure product quality is consistent and controlled in meeting customer requirements;
·Process PFMEAs are maintained and updated;
·Manage customer qualification process;
·Ensure routine audits are carried out.
The Quality Manager will be fully conversant with TS16949 quality standard and have a detailed understanding of the Engineering industry. You must have previously worked within a process industry and have implemented quality tools including PPAP, APQP, PFMEAs and 8D techniques.
Candidate Qualities and experience:
·Working knowledge and understanding of the application of Quality Engineering tools and methodologies;
·Technically orientated with the ability to understand quickly new product and process technologies;
·Experience as customer quality interface with demanding customers;
·Be familiar with carrying out internal audits and developing action plans and be familiar with receiving external audits;
·Flexible attitude and approach to problem resolution;
·Strong communication and presentation skills - written and verbal;
·Excellent relationship building and team working skills - internally and externally;
·Good organisational and planning skills;
·Excellent managerial skills - projects, problem resolution and people issues;
·Self motivated and will have an enthusiasm for improving systems and methods;
·You will have led problem solving teams and have a technical knowledge of production capability manufacturing processes, fault detection, quality and process control in a customer focused environment.
·Engineering qualification degree or similar
·Working Knowledge of TS16949
·A broad practical background in Quality engineering and manufacturing.
·A formalised and detailed approach to their work.
·Strong Communication, IT, Literacy and People management skills.
